Welcome to the Official Site of Author Kim Patton

I am a creative writer who loves capturing stories from this wild, beautiful life. If you are like me, you know what it is like to put life “on the shelf,” hoping and praying for better days. I am guilty of wasting so many moments on, “but when this happens…”

For me, it was; When my husband finishes seminary... or When we have kids… or When I am healthy

I write to fight the urge to live in the future so I invite you into the present with me so we all feel a little less alone.

You can be grateful, even when it’s difficult.

You can be present even when you ache for the elusive perfection of the future.

You can be honest and vulnerable, even when you want to wait just a little longer until things are better.

The best way to hear from me is by completing your name and email address below to “Stay in Touch.” You will receive a free gift as well as a monthly newsletter filled with stories that help you embrace your present, however messy it may be.

All my best,

Here's my story ...

I live with my husband Kevin surrounded by sunshine in Central Florida. In February of 2020, we welcomed home our beautiful adopted daughter Eden Renee.

Kevin and Kim Patton

Growing up with six brothers has given me an insatiable love for sports and the outdoors. I dream about scoring touchdowns and wish I could run a marathon someday. But in reality, I just do a lot of running on the trail, biking on my red skinny-wheeled road bike and playing ultimate frisbee or tennis.

Kevin is my best friend and we have been married since 2010. He’s my favorite teacher of the Bible and of life, and I do well to learn patience and kindness from him. We also have a long list of TV and movie favorites over the years that we aren’t ashamed to re-watch often. Our favorite restaurants are Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, and Five Guys and Fries.                                                                          (We are cheap dates!)

The last few years have been eye-opening as a reader to me. I have come to love most any memoirs, adventure non-fiction, and books by strong Christian female voices. My all-time favorite book is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
